Making pancakes was a good way to use up all the fat, cream and eggs in the house before Lent fasting began. This old tradition inspired the term Fat Tuesday (or "Mardi Gras" in French). It also inspired the pancake dinners that many congregations hold today.
We enjoyed our pancakes for dinner.
Along with scrambled eggs and bacon.
Tomorrow we will begin our Lenten journey.
We'll follow Christ to the cross.
Where He died to take away our sins.
