happy valentine's day

Saturday, February 14, 2009
I'm not a huge fan of this hallmark holiday but it is fun to celebrate these little holidays with the kids. I'm not into the commercialism, I guess that's the big thing. I told Greg, no flowers, why spend all that money for something that will die soon anyway. I said if he wanted to get me flowers he can surprise me with them on just about any other day of the year.

I think this is a great time to really show your family and friends how much they are loved. Handmade and personalized gifts are really the way to go if you ask me. We made a few little crafts for Valentine's Day and we've had fun celebrating in our own little way. We're each doing something we love. The kids are taking naps, which Micah loves. We're going to the library, which Naomi loves. We're spending time together as a family, which Greg and I love and we're just having a relaxing and fun day. We got the kids all dressed up in their nice red clothes, Greg made heart shaped pancakes, and I cut out our sandwiches too. Naomi made Valentines for all her cousins (earlier this week and they're coming in the mail, sorry I mailed them late). And it's just been fun doing something a little out of the ordinary.

Hope you're having a great day too and know that you are loved with an everlasting LOVE by our Savior Jesus Christ! Here are descriptions of the photos in case you don't know what they are. From left to right top to bottom.

We got our Valentines yesterday and Andrew was so excited. Noah tore his up soon after giving it to him, but he enjoyed it too. Thanks for thinking of us!!
