I was blessed to get an advanced copy of The Passionate Mom by Susan Merrill and I am so glad I did. What an incredible book. I have to finish reading it but I LOVE what I have read so far. Here's a little video by Susan about the book. I'll be back later with more details and a final review of the book but I just wanted to get the word out there...incredible...real...refreshing...motherhood.

I haven't had the joy to read Susan's book yet, but it's on my to-do list. My kids are mostly grown up now, but her video hooked me when she related how imperfect we feel as mothers. Been there. Being a passionate mom is a gift. Women are not generic creatures with the same identical motherly
assets. We're not cookie-cutters. And so, comparison is bound to be part of the picture. I have many wonderful Godly women friends, who love their children as much as I love mine, but they often express to me that they have no interest in being a stay-at-home mom, (and they shutter at the thought of HomeSchooling- something our family does). But I see their grown-up children now, and they have turned out to be loving, thoughtful, ethical adults who , for the most part, love God. My friends and I did it differently, but in the end God made our paths perfect for our families. .
