naomi's birthday celebration

We love to celebrate birthdays in this house. We have a few birthday traditions that we like to make happen every year...

The birthday child...

gets a new outfit made by mom.

gets to go out for breakfast with dad (starting at age 3).

gets to pick out the design and flavor of their cake.

and

gets to pick the dinner menu.

So, Naomi started her birthday with donuts with dad!!

She got to go to school on her birthday so I decided to make her lunch even more fun by wrapping up the individual pieces of her lunch! She loved this and thought it was so silly.

 She picked out meatloaf, homemade mac and cheese, corn and tomatoes for her birthday dinner.

 And she wanted a strawberry cake with strawberry frosting in the shape of a "7" with butterflies and her name on it. So, that's what I did. Not my best cake but she loved it!!

 Here she is in her birthday outfit. She loves long skirts and doesn't have very many. I also made her a doll (she's been asking for one for a long time)!!

 She ended the day by building a huge lego house with Micah and myself. We had a great time celebrating this sweet special seven year old!!
