all in the family

{Jackson, TN Family Photography} I had a GREAT vacation. It was so relaxing and we had a great time hanging out with our family. I'm ready to get back into the swing of things here and so excited to start capturing YOUR memories! Don't wait for the "perfect" moment because we know that moment is pretty elusive...book your session today! I am so honored when family members ask me to take their photos! Yes, they're family so they have to be nice (ha) but they don't have to ask me to take their photos in the first place right? Well, over Christmas break while on vacation I was able to get my husbands sister and her family in front of my lens. I was so excited to be able to do this for them since it's been quite a while since they've had family portraits done. The only problem...it was cold and we were both miles from home. I'm from Jackson, TN and they are from Louisville, KY and we found ourselves in Indianapolis, IN. So we asked the families that live in Indy what a good INDOOR location would be since it was pretty chilly on January 1st. They gave us some ideas and then we just sort of decided to drive downtown and find what we could find. We took a couple crazy, brave, freezing photos on the steps of the capital building. Then we went into a nearby hotel and had more luck there. Then we lucked out with a great location with lots of wonderful light. It was called the Indy ArtsGarden and was basically a skyway between a mall and some other restaurants right downtown. It wasn't crowded and we grabbed a few great photos and called it a day! Doug, Dana, Emily and Michael, thanks for the great afternoon outing, what a way to start the new year! I hope all of my future sessions are as much fun and as easy as you all were! I hope you enjoyed the day and I hope you love your photos! I feel like we got some great shots...and thanks for not running away and for taking direction well (it makes such a huge difference when the kids are older!). I can't wait to do this again for you...but hopefully before another 5 years go by! You deserve family photos every year!

My beautiful niece Emily who will be finishing up her 8th grade year in a couple of months! yay Emily!! So proud of you! Can't forget this handsome young man!
