desktops

Along with changing my blog header every month I also change my desktop.
I use the free desktops from Shabby Princess.
They're great because they've got places for photos and a calendar!
I seem to have lost May here too...what ever happened in May anyway?

bridal photography

Nick and Ellie got married yesterday.
It was an awesome wedding.
Greg preached an amazing sermon.
And a good time was had by all.
I was able to do Ellie's bridal portraits at the end of November.
And I'm excited to be able to share them with you now!
you can see a bunch more from her session here!

through the year....

Let's take a fun little trip down memory lane.
Here are my blog headers for the year.
I seem to be missing May...oh well.
Do you like that I change my header every month?
Did you even notice that I change my header every month?
Would it be better to just stick with one header for the year?

senior portrait photography

First I have to say thank you to my in-laws.
They made my three photo shoots in two days possible.
I wouldn't have been able to do it without their willingness to hang out with the small ones.
So, thanks a bunch!!!
Aaron and I finally decided on a time to get his session done.
I photographed Aaron's older sister, Elizabeth last year and
was so excited that he asked me to take his senior portraits too.
And in three years maybe I'll get to do Sarahs!!

Aaron was a good sport and was willing to do whatever I asked of him.
He even started climbing up a fire escape...
but I promised his mom he wouldn't get hurt during the session.
We just drove around downtown SA and found interesting spots
for fun backgrounds and then made our way to the grafiti wall....
what a fun session.

Thanks Aaron, I had a great time and we got lots of great shots.
Hope you like how they turned out too!

you can see a bunch more here.
And feel free to leave some comments... (here and there)
and let me know what you think...
don't make me beg!!

maternity photography

Thanks for coming back to read my blog...
I took a little blogging break over Christmas.
It was nice to not be tied down to the computer.
We had a great time with Greg's parents here for a week.
Lots of photos and stories will come this week.
But for now, let me share with you a few photos from my session with Angela.
And you can see a few more here.

The weather was beautiful.
The senior was also, and fun.
The photos are awesome.
I've got more.
But have to edit...
have to find time to edit...
for now, one...
and two more here.

christmas adam

On the way to my photoshoot this morning
I was listening to the radio.
They were talking about they called today Christmas Eve Eve.
I've done that too.
But then they said a little girl wrote in and told them they should call it
"Christmas Adam"
Because Adam came before Eve.
How clever!

shh....i have a secret

The other day Naomi told me she had a secret to tell me,
and she wanted to tell me in my ear.
I'm curious who taught her that?

She got close to my ear and started talking.
I had to tell her that when you have a secret you have to whisper.
She whispered, "Daddy told me I could eat my booger."
I asked daddy about this and he ASSURES me this is not true.

Then when I was putting her to bed on Sunday night
she told me she had a secret.
She got close to my ear and said, "I have to go potty"
Yay!
So, what used to be, "Mommy, I have a question for you"
Is now going to be, "I have a secret"
So cute to see her learning new things.
Even if her secrets involve potty humor.

the ceiling

I know you're all waiting with baited breath
to see how our ceiling is doing.
Wait no longer.
It is finished!

The crew came about 9:30am
and promptly got to work.
I got the kids out of the house...
we ran to church to fax something,
and then off to walmart to purchase
two last minute gifts and some groceries for our visitors.

When we got home about 12:30pm they were done and gone.
It looks SOOOO much better.
Although you can plainly see where it was patched
I'm sure that can be fixed.
And I'd much rather have that as my problem,
than a giant hole!!!

Just in time for Christmas
and our visitors!

Thanks T and crew for the job well done.
They even patched the eye sore giant crack!!!

Here's a few photos of part of the process.
Cutting down the old sheetrock.

Everything got tarped off when they sprayed the new popcorn ceiling up.
Oh how I wish I had money to get rid of the popcorn ceiling!I took these photos when it was still wet and with the light on...so it's not great, but you get the idea...there's no more hole!!

of hairdos and visitors

We've been talking about how Greg and Micah need haircuts...
for a couple of weeks.
But time gets in the way,
and sometimes we procratinate.
So yesterday was the day that we finally just did it.
I was willing to cut Micah's hair with a scissors
but we decided to just try the clippers.
Greg put the largest guard on the clippers that he had and went to work.
He told me that Micah sat very still
and moved his head in the appropriate direction for the cutting of the hair.

I LOVE it!
He looks so cute!
I do kinda miss his curly locks,
but that was WAY too shaggy.
I may be out of a hair cutting job now.
But that's okay, he looks so cute...
and for some reason hair seems to grow pretty fast in our family!
He'll need another cut before too long.

BEFORE:

AFTER (pre-bath):

AFTER (post-bath):Micah has these two brunette spots in the back of his head (not to mention that his cowlick is on the side of his head)...what a funny head of hair he has.

Greg also cut his hair right after he did Micah's. Jordan came over for a bit tonight and has a shaved head too...here's the three cueballs! Thanks for coming over to hang out Uncle Jordan...we had a great time as always! Come back again soon!

Grandma and Grandpa made it here safe and sound all the way from Indy. Naomi put grandma to work right away, reading books, playing candyland, giving her a bath, putting her to bed. Grandma's got a busy week ahead of her :). We enjoyed a great evening last night of talking and catching up. I'm sure we'll bust out the games tonight! We've got lots of game playing to catch up on!!!
